Do you know that there have more than six million smokers in the European Union who have quit smoking and more than 9 million have reduced smoking consumption with the use of electronic cigarettes, according to a study published today in Addiction.

Among his distinctions in the field of research into electronic cigarettes:

He was research coordinator and principle investigator in a variety of clinical, laboratory and population studies on electronic cigarettes.
He performed the first ever studies evaluating the acute effects of electronic cigarette use on myocardial and arterial function.
He performed the first ever studies evaluating the effects of electronic cigarette aerosol exposure on cultured live cells.
He performed the first ever studies evaluating electronic cigarette use topography in experienced consumers and in first-time smokers.
He performed the largest survey on characteristics, patterns of use, benefits and side effects of electronic cigarette use in dedicated consumers (19,441 participants).
He performed the only study evaluating the effect of flavours variability in electronic cigarette use perceived experience.
He was the main author in the first scientific literature review on electronic cigarette safety/risk profile.

Scientists from the University of Patras-Greece, Onassis Cardiac Surgery Centre-Greece and the French National Research Institute for Health and Medical Research analyzed the data from the 2014 Eurobarometer on smoking and the use of the electronic cigarettes. According to the study findings, 48.5 million Europeans have ever tried electronic cigarettes, but 7.5 million are current users. Among current users, 35.1% have quit smoking while an additional 32.2% have reduced smoking consumption.

Virtually everyone – including more than 90 percent Malaysian vapers, the study found – agrees that kids should not be vaping, just as they are not allowed to do numerous other things that society as a whole regards as lifestyle choices for grown-ups to make. In the case of Malaysia, licensing retailers would allow law enforcement to track and punish any retailer not complying with the law – just as in other consumer-product sectors.

Regular monitoring and lifestyle changes can help to manage cholesterol levels effectively

The 2015 National Health and Morbidity Survey revealed that 47.7% of Malaysians above 18 years old suffer from high cholesterol levels. This significant increase (from 32.6% in 2011) is quite alarming and further statistics from the report revealed that 38.6% of these adults did not even know that their cholesterol levels were above acceptable levels. This is further compounded by the fact that 94.0% of Malaysian adults did not consume the adequate portion of fruits and/or vegetables as recommended by WHO (5 servings of fruits and/or vegetables daily).

One of the key factors to managing heart health is to understand what cholesterol is and how it works in the body. “Cholesterol is a type of fat that cannot dissolve in our blood. It is transported through our bloodstream by carriers called lipoproteins (lipids and proteins ,” said Cher Siew Wei, Corporate Wellness Manager, Nestlé Malaysia.

“Cholesterol has many important functions in the body, including being part of the cell walls, producing bile acids and hormones and making Vitamin D in your skin,” she added. “Cholesterol can be found mostly in shellfish, prawns, red meat and egg yolk.”

There are two types of lipoproteins: Low density lipoprotein (LDL) or ‘bad’ cholesterol and high density lipoprotein (HDL) or ‘good’ cholesterol. High level of LDL will contribute to blocked arteries and increase the risk of heart disease. On the other hand, HDL helps protect arteries from a build-up of fatty deposits such as plaque, thus reducing the risk of heart disease. It is important to note that the cholesterol consumed from food only has a small effect on bad cholesterol. Saturated and trans fats cause a much greater increase in bad cholesterol.

If high cholesterol levels are not managed, this can result in the build-up of cholesterol plaques that can harden the walls of arteries and block blood flow. Should a cholesterol plaque rupture, this can result in a blood clot forming over the rupture which could cause a heart attack or a stroke.

Everyone above the age of 20 years old should have their cholesterol levels checked at least once every 5 years. More frequent testing may be needed if your initial test results were not within the normal range or if you’re at higher risk of heart disease due to a family history of high cholesterol or heart attack, being overweight or physically inactive, suffer from diabetes, consume a high-fat diet, smoke cigarettes or above 45 years old (for men) or 55 years old (for women).

Simple lifestyle changes can also help to manage cholesterol levels:

Being physically active can help to lower cholesterol levels. Try to exercise on most days of the week and increase your physical activity, for example, by aiming to walk 10,000 steps daily.
By quitting the act of smoking, you can also improve your HDL cholesterol levels and decrease your blood pressure. Maintain
Maintain a healthy body weight with an Ideal BMI between 18.5-24.9
Include plant sterols in your daily diet: 1.2g of plant sterols daily can be easily consumed from 2 servings of Nestlé Omega Plus milk to manage cholesterol levels.

It is only through regular monitoring and prevention that cholesterol levels can be managed effectively as high cholesterol levels do not manifest any signs or symptoms.

Whenever I went down to Times Square, I always had difficulties to find good and affordable food. Since I'm quite lazy to walking around inside the mall, I always end up to dine at Rasa Utara. Personally I do really love their food. Not only it's affordable but it's also truly "Utara" food.

I always set my appointment at Rasa Utara if there's any meeting happen in KL/Times Square.

If you are looking for authentic northern delicacies, northern original recipes I would say, then Rasa Utara is the right place for you. They really serve good northern food. The restaurant is located conveniently in Times Square and is easily accessible by public transport like buses and monorail.

Overall, I would give 8/5 for their authentic utara dishes with pretty reasonable price and highly recommended. There’s plenty of signature dishes and what I like most is their Terung Belado and Cendul for the dessert. If you prefer something western, Their Chicken Chop is something that you shouldn't miss. I am definitely would be making a revisit back there.

Personally I would say I do love my current workstation. It's not that big or small but it just perfect for me to do my work. I'm planning to add on few IPTV / CCTV below the shelves (will attach LED monitor) so that I can monitor entire studio & outside the studio without I need to move myself.

I just need few more upgrade on my PC. Just few... just motherboard, processor, RAM DDR4 & graphic card... That will cost me around 4K hahahaha

I has been using Dell monitor ever since I run my own production house. Almost 10 years and this little boy over here is for my second monitor since my main monitor starting giving some issue. Since I spend most of my time meetings and shooting, I do need a proper bag. Fallen in love with this lovely blue bag. Just nice to keep my Macbook & files.

I wanted to get a proper gaming mouse and my previous Razer mouse is dead long time a go. So, I go for Logitech G602.

Anyone have suggestion for a better fan?

I told myself that I will at least workout 30min - 2 hour at every early in the morning. I used to workout Crossfit and weightlifting 1 hour a day and consistently for almost a year. I was really skinny back then and I would say I manage to get ideal body (with the help of whey protein). However, one year ago, I had an accident when I was in Langkawi for a month. Due to the accident, I could not able to walk for more than 3 months. To make it worst, I gain so much weight due to an unhealthy lifestyle. Now, I've totally been recovering and I will try my best to work out at least 30min-2 hour a day. Not to mention my big day will be at the end of the year.

Recently I joined Nestle Omega Plus Walk-A-Mile 2016 at Lake Garden Kuala Lumpur and I totally love it. Actually, I was prepared for some run, then only I realize it is walking event hahaha... One thing for sure, I was so excited because this is my 1st event walk/run hehehe usually I just run on the treadmill.

Do you know that it would take, on average, 1 hour and 43 minutes of walking to burn off a 540-calorie Big Mac.

Last Sunday, I had opportunity to pay RizQ Islamic School a visit. Located a stone throw away from my studio, it is definitely a must place to visit if you planning to send off your children to Tahfiz school.

Can you believe this is the Islamic school? Totally amaze me. I never expect this beautiful. We have to change our Stigma towards Tahfiz & Islamic school. Now, you can pay them a visit 7 days a week. Anytime! Just buzz them earlier ya.

Like any private school, they do have the best facilities and security system. RizQ Islamic School is not yet fully operational but is now open to the Open Day and registration of new students for the 2017 session .

I still remember those day when I spend 3 years study in Arabic school, MAAHAD Pontian. To compare with this what #rizqislamicschool try to bring up is totally different. Another level. Trust me, kids/students will gonna love it. Is no longer "Sekolah-Pondok" mindset.

A 4-Day not to be missed startup symposium filled with hands on knowledge and skills from world renowned speakers and instructors who are experts in their fields

Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) will be hosting a third symposium, MA2016. The highly anticipated and not to be missed signature event will be held in MaGIC from 21 September 2016 till 24 September 2016 with an expected crowd of 2000 participants, consisting of startups, social entrepreneurs and job seekers as well.

In addition to the entrepreneurship track, MA2016 will feature the social enterprise track whereby participants will be exposed to the same amount of knowledge and skills with the overarching objective of expanding the social enterprise ecosystem in Malaysia.

Following the success of the previous #MA2015, the key takeaway for this year’s audience is the exposure to key note speakers from successful global entrepreneurs, hands on workshops, fireside chats with mentors, ‘speed dating’ with potential investors, and on the fourth day – Asia’s largest startup career fair.

Recently, my fiance (fatinbella) and I, we were looking for a house to rent. I know it's hard to find a house that suit me and my budget. I would say I prefer something modern and simple. Not too big or too small. Just nice for both of us. Finally, we get to rent Silk Residence. It is a service residence. We rent for 2 years.

We were quite lucky to get nice owner and agent. We get the biggest unit with awesome partly furnish. Other than that, we also get nice LED lights, cute yellow light, door grill, cooking cabinet, exhaust fan, wet kitchen window and not to mention VERY LOW new air conditioner installment from the owner (as low RM30/month).

There have 3 types of house: 942sqft, 1021sqft & 1124sqft. Our unit is 1124sqft (21st floor) and I can see the sunset. Other than that, it is not facing the main road. means that, it won't be noisy especially early in the morning.

For RM1000/month, we are totally satisfied with the units. Add on RM100 per month for the comfortable (3 x air conditioner). So, our total of rental is RM1100/month.

Basic unit : RM900/month. You will get an empty unit even without fan, light etc.

Partly furnish unit : RM1000-1400/month. Some agent offers with cabinets, fridge, water heater, bed, etc.

Fully furnish unit : RM1500-2000/month. Basically, you just have to carry luggage.

I will share the exterior look and facilities of this unit on my next post.

Master Room

For us, we go for basic partly furnish where we get LED lights, fans, water heater and cooking cabinet. At first it's only RM1000/month, but we have opted to add on RM30/unit for 1HP aircond and RM40/unit for 1.5HP. So, we decided to add on aircond just in case if we need it when there's a lot of people. So far, we don't really need it since it is very cold at night.

We did a survey with other agent as well and so far his offer is the best. This is my first conversation with the agent. Somehow I felt, this is the unit that I should get.

Actually, it looks like a medium room for me. We plan to put queen bed and make this room as our study / blogging room. So at least both of us can focus on blogging at night / weekend

Just nice for me and I do really love this kind of toilet. The toilet, marble, etc.

Dry Kitchen

Just lack of a fridge and cabinet, or else everything will be perfect.

Wet Kitchen

Did we mention that our owner is really nice? Not only they put the door grill and free cooking cabinet, but also they add on window and exhaust fan. Actually, this place usually people use for cooking and wash cloth. I prefer to cook outside so that my floor won't be that oily.

Hey guys, do you think you are healthy enough? If you had to ask me, I would say I'm not! I just started to hit my gym routine again and I definitely can see I'm lack of stamina. Previously (a year ago) I can just simply workout an hour a day. Unfortunately due to accident, I stop my workout. Now, I'm starting to hit gym again and I felt I'm way behind.

What I saw in Malaysia, we had a busy lifestyle and our food culture are not so healthy. Not to mention Mamak most of the time and we are lack of awareness when it comes to healthy lifestyle. One of the main issue that Malaysian face is Heart Disease. Heart disease is usually suffered by people in their 30s if they did not practice healthy lifestyle.

One study found that women who increased their step count to nearly 10,000 steps a day reduced their blood pressure after 24 weeks. I always practice 5K steps in the gym early the morning.

Every 15 minutes, there was one death due to heart disease in Malaysia. High cholesterol remains one of the main risk factors that contribute to the development of heart disease. 2015 National Health and Morbidity Survey also revealed that 1 out of 2 adults in Malaysia having high cholesterol and 42% of Malaysians who have high cholesterol are under the age of 40 years.

Heart health care must start from now! Do not wait until it's too late guysss!

A few days ago, Canon has launch their new 5D series, Canon 5D Mark IV. I'm a huge fan and I'm a Canon 5D Mark III user. I have been using Canon DSLR such as 500D, 550D, 60D, 6D, 7D, 5D Mark II my latest DSLR that I have been using for the past few years is Canon 5D Mark III.

I would say I do really love Canon even though I try use other DSLR such as Nikon and Sony.
